CrossOver Games is no more. Codeweavers has rebranded and merged its two "Windows apps on a Mac" products, CrossOver Pro and CrossOver Games, into CrossOver XI. The new version comes with a huge change log, with key updates including Wine 1.4, an improved registration method, RAR file support, support for several .Net components, and a host of Microsoft Office improvements. FS-UAE, an Amiga emulator focused heavily on games, has received several updates since its initial release on February 4 this year. FS-UAE is built on the WinUAE code base, and can be fully controlled with a gamepad. The most recent update (0.9.10) adds experimental net play support. Nintendo 64 emulator Mupen64Plus received its first official update in more than 13 months a few days ago. Version 1.99.5 updates the audio plugin, input-SDL plugin, video plugin, RSP plugin, core emulator, and Consule-UI front-end for Mupen64Plus 2.0 API versioning; adds support for the Nintendo 64 real-time clock; allows 8-bit PNG images to be loaded for hi-res textures; and fixes many bugs. Boxer, a DOSBox-based DOS emulator, has been updated to version 1.2.2. This version adds the ability to paste text into the DOS prompt, makes improvements to keyboard input, changes the default games folder location to ~/DOS Games, and fixes several bugs. PSP emulator JPCSP has a fresh SVN build available. Build r2463 increases speed and compatibility for software render. Get it from the JPCSP website.


Mini vMac activity continues unabated. The development source snapshot has further implemented LocalTalk support. You can read quite detailed explanations of what has been done and remains to be done on the Mini vMac website.


Gambatte 0.5.0-wip2v2 has been released. Gambatte is a Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color emulator. Changes include added support for Game Genie and Game Shark codes, several bug fixes, and .gz file support. See the changelog for more details.


There's another new Apple I emulator on the block. Faux1 is meant to run on the Terminal, and was forked from pom1 and napple1. You can learn more about the emulator, and find a download link, at the official FAUX1 website.


Continuing on the Apple I theme, Pom1 has been updated to version 1.0. This is the first stable release. Changes listed are optimised options code, better error handling, a new "show about option," command line parameters, and the keyboard input simulation for ASCII format in the load option (I presume this means something to someone). Get the source code from the Pom1 website.


NekoLauncher Mednafen has been updated to version 0.9.19. This version adds Bios selection buttons for PlayStation emulation, fixes GUI bugs, and more. See the full list of changes (in Japanese) and download here.


Apple II emulator Virtual ][ has been updated to version 6.5. This version improves screen rendering performance, fixes issues with stray pixels and Mockingboard cards under certain conditions, and corrects an issue in the "floating bus" screen rendering. GSport, an Apple IIgs emulator, has been updated to version 0.2a. New features include the ability to automatically mount disk images when running from the command line, a text-based virtual printer output, and a drag and drop installer disk image for Mac OS X. You can learn more about the emulator at the GSport website.


MacFCEU, a Nintendo Famicom emulator for pre-OS X Macs, has been updated to version 0.7.6. Recent changes include several bugfixes and implemented NSFe and Open Recent. If you're running System 7.1 or later, head over to the MacFCEU website to learn more.


Arcade emulator MAME has been updated to version 0.145u4. The usual plethora of changes and bugfixes can be seen here. You can get the source code via the official MAME website, or download a 64-bit Intel Binary from the SDLMAME website.


Open-source machine emulator and virtualisation tool QEMU has been updated to version 1.0.1. QEMU now uses a separate thread for VCPU execution. Other changes include DVD image support in SCSI CD-ROMs, support for live migration, and many bug fixes. See the change log for full details. SpeedofMac has compiled several recent change sets for PlayStation emulator PCSX-Reloaded. The latest build at the time of writing is 75683. Changes since the last roundup are a licence update, graphics plugin updates, CD plugin tweaks, and a CD plugin fix. Get it from the SpeedofMac PCSX-Reloaded page, or head over to the PCSX-Reloaded CodePlex site.
